Town Park

The aim of the Dromcollogher Town Park project was to develop a community park serving the people of Dromcollogher and the wider communities. There was a 7-acre sites ideally located, being in close proximity to the centre of the town and accessible from the two regional roads which join in the centre of the town. This was in the ownership of Limerick City and County Council. They agreed to lease this site to Dromcollogher Community Council on a long lease.

The development predominately was a project that saw the existing environment enhanced by the introduction of more native flora and fauna while revitalizing the existing stream which flows through the site, with the whole area keeping a very natural feel to it. 1 Km of pathways were provided all over the Park.

The project is ever evolving and developed on a phased basis. The initial works were the installation of the key infrastructure which any park would require along with the necessary landscaping providing the park with its final layout. The proposal for the park itself, was to provide a safe walking environment, that could be utilized by young and old.
